Casa Campori stands alone on a hillside above Passignano sul Trasimeno, inside its own olive grove. From the terrace the land falls away in silver-green rows towards the water, and on clear evenings the far shore of Lake Trasimeno turns the colour of the sky.
There is a private heated pool below the house, a long table under the pergola, and an outdoor kitchen where dinner takes as long as it likes. Mornings are for the market in the village, afternoons for the water, and evenings for whichever bottle came back from the winery.
Designed for two people, it feels like a house rather than a rental: you shop in Passignano, you cook, you swim, and you drive out to Cortona, Perugia or Assisi when you feel like it.

The Villa

The pool sits a little below the house, on its own terrace of stone, with parasols, loungers and a view straight down the valley towards Lake Trasimeno. It is heated during the relevant season, so the swimming season begins early and ends late.
For most guests this is where the week is actually spent.

The village of Passignano sul Trasimeno lies a few minutes down the hill, with cafés along the promenade and boats out to the islands of Lake Trasimeno. Cortona sits on its Tuscan ridge to the north; Perugia and Assisi lie to the south and east, both easy for a day out and back in time for a swim.
